Glass Care

Hanging yo glass

  • Most pieces arrive ready to display, already fitted with a chain or cord for hanging. If you’re placing your glass in a window, it’s best to use a solid hook screwed into the window frame, or attach it to the window’s lock or latch if available.

  • Suction cups aren’t the most reliable option—especially for heavier items—as they can loosen over time and lead to accidental falls. For wall display, a simple nail is fine for lighter pieces, but for larger or framed work, securing it into a wall stud provides the greatest stability.

Cleaning yo glass

  • Your glass arrives cleaned and polished to help protect it from the start. In most cases, you won’t need to do much beyond occasional dusting.

  • Over time, however, the lead in the solder may naturally oxidize, creating a faint white residue along the seams. If you notice this, simply wipe it away with a soft cloth—cotton swabs can help with tighter spots. Avoid using cleaners that contain ammonia (such as Windex), as they can damage the solder.

  • Stained glass is traditionally made with lead. While the amount present poses very little risk, it’s still a good habit to wash your hands after handling your piece.
